Boondocking Bullshit!

So I am finally here! I am parked in Salida with the cast and crew of Rv Nomads- the documentary. Haven’t filmed at all yet, that’s tomorrow. All day (8-5). Interview in the morning, ‘lifestyle’ shoot in the afternoon.

Salida Rv Nomad shoot

Oh, and I have a black eye. (My left. Covered here.) Perfect timing! (Bungee cord accident. Rv Lifestyle complications)

We had a potluck dinner a couple of evenings ago and I got to meet a few of the cast (First Class RV Adventures and Exploring The Local Life) who I hadn’t yet met and they were delightful. John and Brenda of Geo Astro RV are simply RAD people. So freaking nice. Great new friends!

Looking forward to tomorrow’s filming!

(Boondocking bullshit at the bottom of post. Fun stuff in meantime.)

Last Month’s RVing Antics

I’ve immensely enjoyed this spring and summer. I spent a good month boondocking near Salt Lake City, a little with Marshall, and a lot with Hannah Mernana.

We partied it up some, met with fellow Xscapers, and even street parked in SLC a bit. (Before we got kicked out)

Xscapers Gathering in SLC

Unbeknownst to us, it wasn’t legal to LIVE in it while you parked it. Some ruin it for all.

While here, I made the Hashtag Van Life parodies with Hannah, created a whole new way to fill water bags, chased spiders out of my rig more than once, and went to see U2 and Flo Rida (‘Flo-Reeta’, as I would say) and was ‘poppin’ bottles’ in Vegas.

Poppin' bottles
I guess this is my Hashtag Vanlife attempt at getting more followers? ๐Ÿคฃ

While together, as usual, Hannah and I got into some fun. It was fun, but Hannah was a little less than pleased with what I thought was hilarious watching her try to fill water bags without a hose… though you can’t really tell… I think she had fun too.

Finger Fodder

I also showed Hannah my old-school ‘finger fodder’.

I would love to know if ANYONE else in the world does these habits with magazines/pages. I have a talent, you know. It should be shared with the world. It’s only fair.

Did I mention I have a unique talent? (Aside from creepily moving my lower eyelids) It’s something I have done my entire life, starting since 6th grade.

It must have been my ADD and/or some sort of OCD trying to find some sort of pleasure ย in school amongst paying attention to the horridly boring education system my brain was fighting against.

I’ve ‘played’ with pages ever since.

You get a special look at my limitless talent here:

And OMG, HANNAH COULD DO IT! This was a first time anyone has said they have done it in the past. Sisters from another mister…

Weird, weird, weird, weird. But I’m not ashamed. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Boondocking Bullshit

After SLC, I beelined it to Colorado and landed in a beautiful boondocking spot right outside of Crested Butte.

Crested Butte Camping
Stupid beautiful. Mountains are pretty too. PFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTFFSSSSSTTTTTT!! ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜‚

While there, I had the ‘pleasure’ of people parking nearby enough that their UNATTENDED male dogs (why are they always male? Male=leg lifting) were trapsing all over my damn camp.

Dog pee on solar panels

This meant me having to go into defense mode and shoo them away (IF I was home) to keep them from peeing all over my belongings. People… oh, I’m not even going to bother. It won’t do any good. Just watch.

Moral of the story, like I put at the end of the story… don’t let your DAMN MALE DOG GO ROAMING while you’re camping, you lazy F! WALK WITH your dog, maybe use a thing called a leash… at least GO with it to explore and keep an eye on what the dog is doing.

DON’T let it roam free to pee all over other people’s property. Because that’s WHAT THEY DO. If you do let them, cause you aren’t gonna change, don’t be surprised if some bold-ass camper comes over and pees on YOUR stuff. Don’t be offended. It’s the same difference.

Peace out, y’all! ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. I had a problem while boondocking at Lone Rock when this guy took his dog for a walk (off leash) every evening right past us. Male dog would piss on my Tacoma tires every time until I finally stepped outside and yelled at the dog just before he lifted his leg. The owner got the message โ€ฆ after a few more words from me. Google “tinkle bell” – will make it a lot easier for you to reciprocate ๐Ÿคฃ

    Have fun filming!

    1. Oh? Google tinkle bell I will!! LOL! Good for you for saying something. Easier when the owner is witnessing it right in front of you. I tried yelling at the dogs loudly enough so that the owners would hear but they were too far, amd I wasnโ€™t gonna go confront them. Because Iโ€™m a non confrontational pussy! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

      1. And since it’s Colorado, they probably have guns …. and pot ๐Ÿคฃ I can say that cause I lived in CO over 20 years. I’m truly missing my jaunts back this summer, but there’s always next year ๐Ÿค … beauty of a home on wheels!

  3. I recommend from experience to keep your rental. I’m sure you ran the numbers but your real estate is your wealth. I know that your house is your baby, but that baby is full grown and is now ready to give you a life time of income… Plus some tax advantages towards your other income. Hire a property manager, or better yet a friend or relative and a good handyman. Take a trip back to FL (tax deductible) occasionally to check up on things. Kinda have to think of a sustainable long term plan, rentals can fulfill that.

    1. I reallyappreciate your taking to time to help, but I sold it in February. Camp Addict is my bread and butter now! Iโ€™m doing just fine. ๐Ÿ˜ And no property headaches, to boot! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

  4. Sorry about your black eye, but loved hearing/seeing you with so many friends and your various campsites.ย  Your videos are terrific but sometimes your language is a little beneath you to me.ย  Maybe RV’ers swear more than others and you’ve picked it up?ย  Or maybe not and that’s why you need to rebuild your blog base?

    1. Meh- I just let it go when I need to! No different than I used to be. Cursing doesnโ€™t bother me. Itโ€™s an expression. Black eye better!! Good thing I used ice or my forehead would have been WRETCHED!!!
